Set your homepage in Chrome

Chrome lets you choose the page it opens when it starts and the page the Home button goes to. The new tab page works differently, which is explained at the end.

  1. Open the ⋮ menu and choose Settings.
  2. Click On startup.
  3. Choose Open a specific page or set of pages, then click Add a new page.
  4. Type the address, such as gethomedeck.com, and click Add.

Set the Home button

  1. In Settings, click Appearance.
  2. Turn on Show home button.
  3. Choose the option to enter a custom address, and type it in.

Install it as an app

Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or open the ⋮ menu and choose Cast, save, and share → Install page as app. Click Install. The page opens in its own window and shows up in your Dock or taskbar.

The new tab page

Chrome's settings only offer its standard new tab page. To show a different page there, you need an extension from the Chrome Web Store. Check what an extension can access before adding it, since one that changes new tabs can usually see the pages you visit.
